Recess M-Section Corded Contract Curtain Track Kit – White

Recess M-Section Corded is Renaissance's concealed contract curtain track with cord operation – a 20.0mm × 14.0mm M-section aluminium profile that sits flush inside a plasterboard ceiling recess, drawn by cord rather than by hand. Specify it where the ceiling detail hides the track and the curtains need to be operated without handling the fabric: hotel bedrooms, care homes, student accommodation and meeting rooms. Supplied as a complete kit: pre-cut track, corded end caps, gliders, twist end stops, a 1m drop of heavy-duty cord, an overlap arm and fixings. Kits of 3m and over come in two pieces with a joiner.

Please tell us how it should be made

Corded tracks are built to your configuration, so we need two things with your order: whether the curtains are centre split or side stacked (right-hand side or left-hand side), and which side the cord control should be on (RHS or LHS). We confirm both back to you in writing before the order goes into production.

Order curtains and track together

Pair this track with any made-to-measure fire retardant curtain on CreateFR. Pencil pleat and pinch pleat headings run on Standard or Roller gliders; wave curtains need the Wave glider that matches the tape spacing on your curtain order. Hardware is dispatched direct from the manufacturer and arrives separately from your curtains.

Recess fix: the M-section profile fixes directly into a plasterboard ceiling recess with no brackets. Use screws of No.3 gauge (2.5mm shank) with a head no larger than 5.5mm so that the screw head sits inside the profile and does not foul the gliders or the cord. A pre-drilled track with holes every 15cm is available on request; otherwise drill the profile at regular centres to suit the substrate.

Ceiling fix: where there is no recess the same profile fixes directly to the ceiling through the track, using the same screw specification.

Cord operation: the kit comes with corded end caps, an overlap arm and a 1m drop of heavy-duty cord. The cord loop must be secured taut and out of reach with a tensioner fixed to the wall or skirting – this is what keeps a corded installation child-safe. The cording is configured at the factory, so tell us centre split or side stacked (RHS/LHS) and the control side (RHS/LHS) when you order.

Long runs and blinds: kits of 3m and over are supplied in two lengths with a joiner – fit the joiner at the join and fix through the track either side of it. The profile is compatible with side-channel roller-blind guides where blinds share the recess.

Bending: this track cannot be bent. For bay windows, corners and curved runs choose a bendable Renaissance profile such as Motiva Round.

Care: keep the groove clean and dust-free and re-siliconise periodically to prolong smooth running of the gliders.
