Sekers fabrics as made-to-measure fire retardant curtains

Sekers Fabrics is a UK contract textiles house that has supplied the hospitality, leisure and marine markets for more than 80 years. Its curtain ranges cover inherently flame retardant polyester and Trevira CS plains, textures and jacquards, wide-width sheers and voiles, velvets and blackouts, with a growing share woven from recycled polyester. CreateFR is a Sekers stockist: every fabric on this page can be ordered as a finished, made-to-measure curtain, priced instantly online, or included in a project quotation alongside the other fabric houses we carry.

What is in the Sekers range

  • Wide-width sheers and voiles. Patagon, Spirit, Sunda, Tynan, Munro, Fifties, Lennox, Bobal, Sense, Khiva Itchan, Galaxy Aster and the Ginza voiles are woven around 300cm wide, so the width becomes the drop and curtains run seam-free across large windows; see all fire retardant voiles and sheers and wide width fabrics.
  • Wide-width plains and textures. Khiva, Bacchus, Olympia, Galaxy Acrux, Tenby and Vow give linen-look and satin-look drapery in the same seam-free format, and Riviera is a multi-purpose standard-width plain with a raw-silk slub.
  • Jacquards. Korowai, Yuma, Ginza Reiko and Deco Raleigh bring pattern and texture in inherently FR polyester or Trevira CS.
  • Velvets. Velvets from the Alpha and Brava ranges for curtains, bedspreads and, in Brava's case, upholstery.
  • Blackouts. Esme and the double-faced Lunar for blackout curtains in bedrooms, hotels and care settings.
  • Recycled content. Grandeur, Fifties, Galaxy, Lennox and Tenby are woven with recycled polyester; see recycled and sustainable fabrics.

Certification

Every Sekers fabric we list is inherently flame retardant, so the performance is in the fibre rather than a topical finish and will not wash out. All are certified to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B; the 71°C-washable Esme, Sunda and Tynan ranges and Brava Palamos also meet Type C, and bedding-grade qualities carry BS 7175. The exact ratings are listed on each product page, and test certificates are supplied with your order for your fire risk assessment and O&M files.

Sekers FAQs

Are Sekers fabrics inherently fire retardant?

Yes. Every Sekers fabric on CreateFR is inherently FR polyester or Trevira CS; we do not list treated or back-coated qualities.

What does wide width mean for my curtains?

Wide-width fabrics are used with the width forming the drop, so a curtain of almost any width can be made without vertical seams. They suit tall or very wide windows, sheers and hotel bedrooms.

Which Sekers fabrics are suitable for care homes and healthcare?

Look for Type C and a 71°C wash: Esme blackouts and the Sunda and Tynan sheers are certified to BS 5867 Part 2 Type C and washable at 71°C. Your fire risk assessment decides what a particular building needs.

Do you sell Sekers fabric by the metre?

Online pricing is for finished curtains. For fabric only, include the metreage in a quote request.
