Contract 28 eyelet pole set – Black Nickel

The Contract 28 range is the 28mm workhorse we specify for medium to heavy curtains in hotel bedrooms, offices, student accommodation, care settings and larger residential projects. This is the eyelet version of the set.

Supplied without rings

An eyelet pole set is the same kit as the ringed Contract 28 set with the rings taken out. Eyelet curtains have their own metal rings sewn into the heading and thread directly onto the pole, so loose curtain rings would be redundant. The saving is passed on: RCA deduct a fixed amount per ring that would otherwise have been supplied, which is why an eyelet set costs less than the ringed set at the same length. If you are hanging pencil pleat or pinch pleat curtains, order the ringed Contract 28 set instead – this one will not work with them.

About the Black Nickel finish

Black Nickel is a dark gunmetal with a gentle sheen – a step softer than Matt Black. It recedes against dark joinery, smoked glass and charcoal walls, and is the finish we reach for in contemporary hotel and bar interiors where the pole should be present but not graphic.

Order curtains and poles together

Pair this pole with any made-to-measure fire retardant eyelet curtain on CreateFR. Tell us the pole length and we will size the curtain to it. Hardware is dispatched direct from the manufacturer and arrives separately from your curtains.

Every bracket in this set is wall-fixed. Fix into masonry with the plugs and screws supplied; into stud or dry-lined walls, fix into the studs or use a proprietary heavy-duty cavity fixing – a loaded contract curtain will pull a plasterboard-only fixing out.

Choosing the bracket

• Adjustable K brackets adjust from 75mm to 100mm to pole centre, which covers most reveals and lets you clear a shallow sill or trim.
• Contemporary brackets are the slimmest option in the range; RCA do not publish a projection figure for them, so ask us before specifying them where clearance is tight.

Bracket positions

Sets up to 2000mm come with two brackets, one near each end. From 2400mm a third, centre bracket is supplied and must be fitted; set it at the mid-point of the run.

Note for eyelet curtains: the eyelets cannot pass a centre bracket. On sets of 2400mm and over, plan the curtain as a pair drawing to the sides, with the centre bracket sitting in the overlap, or tell us the layout when you order and we will work the curtain widths around the bracket positions.

Fitting order

Fix the brackets first and check them level across the run. Thread the curtain onto the pole before you seat the pole in the brackets and before the finials go on – once a finial is fitted the eyelets cannot be slid over the end. Eyelet rings need an inside diameter greater than 28mm to run freely on this pole.

Care

Wipe the pole and finials with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasive creams, scouring pads or solvent cleaners on the Black Nickel finish. Re-check bracket screws after the first few weeks of use in high-traffic buildings.
