Contract 28mm Curtain Pole Kit – Black Nickel

This is our workhorse pole – the one behind most of our hotel, care home, student accommodation and office projects. The 28mm powder-coated steel tube carries lined, interlined and blackout curtains comfortably, and everything comes in one box per window, so fitting is quick. This one is Black Nickel: a dark gunmetal with a gentle sheen rather than a flat black – it looks great in bars, restaurants and darker schemes.

What comes in the box

The pole cut to your chosen length (1.2m to 4.8m), curtain rings at one for every 10cm of pole, two brackets up to 2m and three from 2.4m, a pair of finials, fixings and fitting instructions.

Hanging your curtains

Ordering curtains from us too? Pencil pleat and pinch pleat headings hook straight onto the rings supplied. The pole is sent direct from the manufacturer, so it arrives separately from your curtains.

Bracket count is set by the kit: two brackets up to 2.0m and three brackets from 2.4m upwards, with the third bracket at the centre of the run. Fix into a sound substrate using fixings appropriate to the wall or ceiling construction – the fixings supplied suit standard masonry and timber; specify your own anchors for plasterboard, dot-and-dab or metal stud.

• Contemporary bracket – slim contemporary face-fix bracket; projection is not published by the manufacturer, so confirm clearance on site before ordering

Rings and finials

Rings are supplied non-lined as standard. Nylon-lined rings run more quietly on the pole and are available separately if the specification calls for them. Finials are supplied as a pair: the Ball finial is the softer, more traditional profile, the End Cap finial is flush and takes almost no projection past the bracket, which helps where two windows meet at a corner or a pole runs close to a return wall.

Measure the pole length across the full width you want the curtains to cover, allowing stack-back either side of the reveal, and order the next length up from the sizes listed. The manufacturer doesn't publish a weight per metre or a maximum unsupported span for this pole; if you are hanging unusually heavy interlined curtains over a wide opening, ask us and we will check with the manufacturer.
